Director: Production UnitA McMaster graduate in Anthropology and Spanish, Fraser has a longstanding interest in technology and social change. Since 1983 when he first built an IBM clone, he has experimented with computer applications from desktop publishing to virtual reality to the World Wide Web. A filmmaker and videographer, he has worked with the CBC and NFB on major documentaries including the Emmy award winning "Henry Ford's America" (directed by Donald Brittain) and the Academy Award nominated CBC/NFB co-production "Whistling Smith".
He has also co-produced a 35mm feature film with students from the Ontario College of Art, and has travelled extensively throughout Latin America and much of Europe filming footage for the CBC. The Production Unit takes a hands on approach to old and new media in its explorations of the creative and practical dimensions of communications and media impacts.
